Game Player's started out bi-monthly in May 1989 and quickly turned into a monthly issue starting in October of '89. The magazine ceased publication in October of 1991 and was started up again under different management in June of 1993 (VOL .6 / NO. 6). The magazine changed yet again in 1996 with a complete redesign and title of Ultra Game Players Magazine.
STINK WARNING** Has anyone else noticed how bad the old Game Player's magazine smelled?!? I thought it was just the 1st issue, then after buying the next few issues I noticed a trend. It smelled as if they were printed on some form of vinegar saturated paper. I just opened the first few issues from their poly baggies for scanning and they kept in the stink for the past 18 years! I really think this is what kept me from subscribing. Anyway.. I just thought I'd share that. :p
